Stand up comedian Alan Anderson is a keen (but rubbish) triathlete and skier. Over the years, thanks to his regular event announcer duties at Scottish and British Triathlon Championships, his not so dulcet tones have become familiar  to the Scottish Triathlon scene . Alan has performed a similar role at events ranging from TweedLove Cycling Festival to Edinburgh’s Rock’n’Roll Half Marathon. In 2013 Alan joined cycling legend Hugh Porter, to commentate in front of 20,000 people, for British Cycling’s National Road Race Championships in Stewarton and Glasgow. For Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Alan did the event announcing for the Triathlon and Road Cycling events.

On the bike Alan has completed L’Etape Du Tour, Marmotte and Velo Adelaide, as well as many UK sportives. Slow at going uphill, sadly Alan’s obsessive and near suicidal Strava bagging for downhill KOMs, on skis and bike, have been brought to a halt last year following an ankle injury whilst skiing – hence the inspiration for setting up the 3 Pistes Cycle.

There is a nice wee team of other Glasgow triathlon, skiing and cycling types who have yet to give us biogs they (or we) approve of.  The most important people who will make this a success though are you the athletes. If you put the hurt in between now and your race then the training will make it a truly memorable day.
