Registration and briefing venue change

With only 4 sleeps until SwimRun UK Championship race day Loch Lomond Inch By Inch, the good news is that the weather for Sunday is looking ideal for swimming and running across Loch Lomond – 10% chance of rain, 50% cloud cover and a slight westerly wind pushing you towards Inchcailloch.

Saturday late afternoon however is a very very different story.


At the time of the reccy cruise very heavy rain is predicted, with a small possibility of thunder and lightning.  Because the rear half of both boats are exposed, the captain has advised that he would have to reduce the number of people allowed on board each. Not that we would get to see much anyway since visibility would be reduced by the rain and on top of that all the windows would steam up.

So, I have taken the decision keep us dry, warm and happy and hold the race briefing on dry land… but with a stunning view (which sadly you probably won’t get to see).


Race Registration 4.30 – 5.30pm 

Race Briefing 5.30pm – 6.30pm

Lodge on Loch Lomond, Loch Lomond, Luss G83 8PA


Lodge on Loch Lomond is just a 150m walk up the beach from Luss pier or 200m from the finish at Lomond Arms Hotel.



Due to weddings at both hotels they have asked that athletes DO NOT park in their car parks. Please use the main village car park which has plenty of space for all athletes.


Short course – please DO NOT park in the hotel car park, not on the road. Please use the main village car park.

Long Course – There is parking for approx 30 cars at Burnfoot.

What would be ideal is if you team up with another pair and car share, with 1 team leaving their car at the finish and 1 at the start and drive each other back and forth.

Please do not park at the jetty itself, but in the car park just before the farm.

DO NOT park in the lane. Emergency access is required.

DO NOT park on the A82.burnfoot carparkOverspill parking at the start – please park on the old road at Duck Bay / Cruin and walk round. It will take less that 10 minutes.

Please ensure you are ready 15 minutes prior to the start – 7.45am (11.45am short course)

This will give us the opportunity to count athletes and double check everyone is on the start line.

Long course will start at 8am

Short Course will start at 12 noon
